Personal Notes
Creating a character means confronting my thoughts and values and giving a fragment of my personality expression. Sometimes I create something that aligns with my moral and ethical boundaries, and sometimes the opposite, which can make it a challenge to play that character in all their facets. "It's just a game," people often say in this context, and that's true. But there's nothing wrong with taking a deeper look now and then. Often, you find something you wouldn't expect in yourself. My roleplaying group is a wonderful, safe space. There's no giggling over characters who don't "fit the norm", no horrified outcry when a character does something commonly considered evil (but perfectly in-character), and no grumbling when a character brings the group into trouble with an action that fits them. On the contrary, there is no place where I laugh more and can be more at peace with myself than there.
