Collage of Myself
Notes. Thoughts. Randomness.
I’ve struggled for a long time to come up with a proper About text. Again and again, I sat down, full of motivation, and then… the words just wouldn’t come, and the page stayed blank. Eventually, I had to accept that this kind of self-description simply isn’t my way.
My personality lies before me in fragments. My drawings, characters, and texts give those fragments a voice, so it only makes sense that this part of the website follows that same path.
It will certainly grow over time, but I don’t want to pressure myself into writing something that isn’t truly me, just to meet some kind of expectation. Think of this space like pieces of a collage slowly forming an image, and maybe even meaning.
I’d like to include dates with each entry, to give both myself and you – if you like – a better sense of where things are. But I don’t want to force myself to arrange them chronologically. Sometimes an old thought is joined by a new one, and the two belong together, right there and nowhere else.
So then... welcome to my world.

An Invitation
Since this section will grow over time, I’d like to invite you to stop by again at a later point :)

Old Paper's Stories
I have a soft spot for old paper. There’s something about aged books and ancient maps that captivates me like they’re holding onto stories, waiting to be discovered. I often wonder whose hands have turned these pages before me, imagining the time when they were crafted and written upon.
I’ve gathered a whole collection of old fairytale books, their pages telling of places and creatures long past. They spark my imagination, making me dream of worlds unseen.
I draw maps and crests because they carry that same magic for me - the feeling of old paper, of hidden stories. And maybe, through them, I can tell new tales that spark someone else’s imagination, too.

Old Things, New Things
I started roleplaying sometime around the turn of the millennium, and the scene has changed a lot since then. What was once a niche hobby, often laughed at, has now fully arrived in the mainstream. I love that the possibilities for digital support are constantly expanding as long as they truly enhance the game rather than disrupt it.
Our group plays in a more or less old-school way. We meet in person, have our character sheets on paper in front of us, use only a few miniatures (almost exclusively for the heroes), and roll physical dice instead of using an app. At the same time, we also play ambient soundtracks, keep a digital backup of our character sheets (for the DM or in case a player forgets their stuff at home), and look things up online when a question can’t be resolved otherwise.
That last point is probably something the community is highly divided on. To clarify: When we google something, it's usually things like the evolution of horseshoes or whether aquatic dinosaurs were air- or water-breathers. Basically, background knowledge that no one in the game really needs. But we still love looking up these kinds of things, simply because we're curious, and since it only takes a few minutes per session, it doesn’t bother us at all. "RPG educates" has kind of become our group's mantra.

Random Fact
Love drawing with pencil. Colored pencils are nice too, and I’d love to get the hang of watercolor someday but I haven't managed that yet. Sketches for maps, battle maps, coats of arms, and full-body drawings are always done the old-school way: on paper. Portrait sketches always digital but still drawn by hand, never generated.
Most of the time, I use a mechanical pencil because it doesn’t need sharpening. Though, to be honest, I prefer regular pencils and even keep the leftover stubs that can’t be sharpened anymore as little memories. I also have some erasers of different thicknesse for large areas and small details. In theory. In practice, I just use whichever one feels right, even if that means my fine erasers wear down too fast and I end up trying to fix tiny details with the chunky one.

Memorial
My old About text as a reminder that polished perfectionism isn't my way to go. You can read it here but please don't take heed of it too much.
I have no reason to hide it, but no reason to emphasize it either.
